Sometimes you just want to make things. It’s hard to know exactly where this desire comes from but the mind delights in new makings, joy is felt. This longing brought four talented people together, to make sound of their thoughts. They soon discovered their aims were profoundly alike. They focused their energies on that elusive moment in time. That delicate moment in the pursuit of that one true note, that little-big note that says it all without too much fanfare. That lovely moment when melody and emotion are one.

FAERO is a group of stellar musicians who came together as a quartet in 2019 though they have been collaborating in each other’s orbit for many years. Alan Doherty (Flute & whistles) Tóla Custy (Fiddle) Cillian King (Guitar) and Pauline Scanlon (Vocals) initially coalesced to create a series of audio-visual pieces based on the themes of art and community. This interactive Arts Council Of Ireland funded project was intended for dissemination around the country in April & May 2020. However, as with all live performances in Spring 2020, the performances have been postponed indefinitely. Given the nature of the original concept, they have decided to adapt and re-work the pieces during this time of hibernation. Filmed by Alan (Aldoc productions) and set to music composed by the quartet. FAERO will release a series of audio-visual pieces online over the course of the coming months. Since their inception last year, the group has galvanised and FAERO is the beginning of a new musical expedition for these four curious musicians.
